I was born on August 26, 1981 in La Habana, Cuba. Since I was young I was attracted to visual art and at an early age I made the decision to be a professional painter. I put myself in contact with Cuban artists, from whom I learned to paint and got to know the working materials and how to use these. In the years from 1995 to 1998 I attended the preparatory course of the "Escuela national de arte taller de Manero La Habana, Cuba".
Because of Cuba's economical situation it was hard to obtain materials; I started making my own materials and experimented with all kinds of products that could serve me in painting. In 2000 I immigrated to Amsterdam, Holland, which opened numerous new possibilities for me as a painter. The contrast from Cuba, as a far more restricted country, to an open and free country like Holland opened my mentality and gave me the opportunity to develop my work at a higher level. I was attracted to new styles and the artistic movement of Modern Art. Studying and investigating the big painters and all genres of international art, inspired my work, allowed me to develop my techniques and broadened my ideas.
Since July 2007 I live - for personal reasons - and work in Zurich.
